Based in the DMV area, Joseph Reid offers private brass lessons and music theory tutoring for students of all levels. With degrees in Music Performance from the University of Maryland and the University of Georgia, he brings nearly a decade of experience across classical, jazz, chamber, and contemporary styles. He has studied with renowned teachers including Philip Smith, Chris Gekker, Brandon Craswell, and James Stokes, and has performed with orchestras, wind ensembles, brass quintets, and jazz bands. Joseph was also an instructor at the inaugural Fortissimo! Chamber Music Festival. He offers trumpet and brass instruction, as well as music theory tutoring from basics to advanced harmonic analysis. Lessons are available in 30- or 60-minute sessions, in person or online, and are tailored to each student’s goals, whether it’s audition prep, foundational skills, or enhancing versatility across genres.
